We Are Carnivore Predators!

Carolina Dog selfie
Schatzie’s cute selfie

On a recent early morning walk with my Carolina Dog, Schatzie, she discovered yet another of the buried rotting treasures the coyotes leave behind for “later“. Schatzie can sniff out these treasures all the time…and sometimes she does find a baby rabbit – either dead already or dying. This is nature people. It really is. While I don’t relish her finds she certainly does! You’re going to really see that she isn’t only a carnivore predator but an accomplished scavenger as well.

Below is what Schatzie (yep she did) decided to share both here on FB with the photos and video and in this blog post with additional information. She is quite direct as you’ll discover:

“Okay humans this photo is what I put on for you…the cute selfie face.

My real face is in the next photo and video…be prepared to see what we dogs really are, you’ve been warned.

Schatzie the Scavenger

We are CARNIVORES. We scavenge. Without us on the earth there is no balance – just ask my wolf cousins in Yellowstone about that! So why are you so repelled? Because YOU are NOT carnivores. Therein lies the issue – this is NOT about YOU…it’s about us!

Why the ewww factor when you aren’t being required to eat what we consider a delicacy and our bodies are designed to eat this way? We clean up the mess unlike humans who pollute, pollute, pollute! So paw-lease get over yourselves and honor the beauty of our Carnivorous selves – after all you chose to have us.

Please note that just because marketing wants you to believe we are cute extensions of you, the truth is we are not! All the cute bows and toys and clothes won’t make me a fur baby.

Like all animals we adapt to the domesticity but our wild nature is inherent.

We are predator carnivores and when you can honor that THEN we will have a true symbiotic relationship. Just saying. Glad my humans embrace all of that WOOF!

When we kill it is swift and most often merciful unlike the most brutal beings on the planet: HUMANS. This is how we are designed to eat – just as all my wild canid cousins do and other predator animals…it’s just how it is.

So go ahead and get squeamish and freak out but do not, I repeat do not think this has a thing to do with you. Nope not one bit, I am just being what I am: a predator carnivore that also scavenges (as all animals do).

Now I’m going to go take a nap and wait for my next opportunity to eat either a fresh kill or something dead and rotting already YUM!”

Well I have to agree with her. So until next time….

Have a pawsitively tail waggin’, NATUROPATHICALLY healthy day!
