PetsPEMF & the Vagus Nerve

Nikola Tesla

I began using the PetsPEMF pad on my own dogs in February of 2024 primarily for their joint support. In November 18, 2024, my Carolina Dog, Ezra, and I had a midair collision – I was running and so was he but neither of us saw the other, so he ran headlong right into me! It was SO painful as he ran right into my left ankle which was broken during an incident with our previous Carolina Dog, Schatzie! Of course neither dog was trying to do that, and I am the human after all that ought to be paying attention, because dogs will be dogs. At least this time my ankle wasn’t broken, but it was severely sprained.

I used this PEMF pad to help me during it all and I’ve loved it so much I use it regularly – more for me now than for Ezra in truth. Ezra does love his magnet pad though. We have a big human-dog bed I lay in with Ezra now (King used to love it and lay in with me any time I brought it out), so that’s when I use this PetsPEMF pad underneath him – King used to let me put it on top of him too. The following information will explain why I am mentioning the joint support later in this post. The first part is about the Vagus Nerve. I wrote about that in 2020 and what I’d learned about the Vagus Nerve and the Health of Our Dogs.

FROM PETSPEMF

We’re thrilled to share some groundbreaking news with our Petspemf community! Our recent study on the vagus nerve has just been approved for publication in Bioelectromagnetics, one of the most respected scientific journals in the PEMF field. This is a huge achievement, and we couldn’t have reached this milestone without the incredible support from our community.

Why does this matter for Petspemf?

Although the study focused on humans, its findings have profound implications for the future of PEMF therapy—especially when it comes to our pets. The vagus nerve is a key player in regulating stress, inflammation, and overall well-being—things that are just as important for pets as they are for people. Understanding how PEMF interacts with these systems helps us refine our technology, improving recovery, relaxation, and overall health for pets like yours.

With over 800 participants, this study is one of the largest PEMF trials ever conducted, and we’re proud to be part of it. Only 12% of research projects make it to publication, and we’re honored to be among those chosen!

What’s next?

Once the study is officially published, we’ll be sharing more insights about what this means for the future of PEMF and Petspemf. Here is link to the article: “Evaluating PEMF vagus nerve stimulation through neck application.”

Now onto how PEMF therapy can help in fracture “management” for our pets, shared by PetsPEMF…

PEMF Therapy for Fracture Management in Dogs & Cats

Fractures in dogs and cats, often caused by trauma like road accidents or falls, are a common concern. Advances in veterinary medicine, particularly in fracture treatment, have made recovery more manageable for our furry friends.

If your pet has suffered from a fracture, you understand the pain and stress that comes with it. Luckily, there’s PEMF therapy!

While simple fractures can be managed with casts or splints, most cases require surgical intervention to realign and stabilize the bone. After surgery, the recovery period is crucial, and physical therapy plays a vital role. Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy has emerged as a popular option to enhance healing.

PEMF has been shown to non-invasively accelerate bone repair during the early healing stages and reduce bone fracture healing time by as much as 35-60%.

PEMF therapy creates new electrical fields inside damaged cells, helping them return to their normal and healthy electrical charges.

Fractures in pets require careful management, often starting with surgery. Incorporating PEMF therapy in the recovery plan can promote faster bone healing and improve your pet’s overall quality of life.

I am affiliate for PetsPEMF now because I am so pleased with the results for our dogs and myself. Currently, as of the writing of this blog post, they are having a $60 off sale when you subscribe to their newsletter. They have a LOT of great information on their website as well.

Until next time…

Have a PAWSitively, tail waggin’, NATUROPATHICALLY healthy day!
