“Your people will be your love offerings. In the day of your mighty power you will be exalted, and in the brightness of your holy ones you will shine as an army arising from the womb of the dawn, anointed with the dew of your youth.” ~Psalm 110:3, TPT (bolding mine)
Today I’m simply sharing sunrises from 2019 as an encouragement to the readers to get out in NATURE with your DOGS – they love it and so will you. These were posts I shared on social media back then and as I came upon them, I felt like they were a gift to be shared here as a reminder to us all, that there IS beauty all around us if we’re but willing watch, see, hear!
Sunrise in Feb 2019
I love sunrise. My grandmother taught me to appreciate it – she was early to rise to run her business in an age when women didn’t. She went to bed late more than not so she also taught me to appreciate the sunset. We all have “go throughs” – some far worse than others. But what she taught me was to appreciate the rising of and setting of each day in all its beauty. Her life wasn’t easy but she seemed to always tackle it head on – it was the only way. . My husband’s aunt(who raised him) always taught him there is no future in our past…it’s just part of our journey. . This sunrise I hope encourages you today no matter your “go through” to seek out the beauty and embrace that even if your journey right now isn’t so beautiful. And know even when it seems darkest the dawn is coming. He brings us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy in our mourning, and a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
Our sunrise on a Saturday morning, March 2019 – yes on a Saturday morning. It’s just another beautiful thing about having dogs – we never miss the sunrise so I’m very grateful to enjoy this beauty daily. . We also were the only humans out and about but it was evident to us both yesterday and today that Spring has indeed arrived in NM because we were greeted with a cacophony of the Dawn Chorus!! The singers I could identify were: Quail, an owl, sparrows, a pack of coyotes, and the local canines I can feel everything coming alive again and it’s so captivating!!
Psalm 110:3, ESV “Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments, from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.“
When I was young I couldn’t fathom this early bird stuff but interestingly enough I always worked jobs that required early mornings – usually that’s the case when you work with animals. But I also worked at our community college for a long while and in local gyms. So I learned to appreciate the early morning.
However, since moving to this high desert that was semi rural 10 years ago, I began to experience nature firsthand and rather than be afraid of it as we’re so brainwashed into these days I really began to embrace it all and learn from it. It’s been an awesome experience as well as the best education to complement my line of work. I’m truly very grateful for it which is why I share it so often.
It was the best when my desert girl Schatzie was with me because it was her and my Dane boy Meshach that helped me to really get into it all. Maybe one day I’ll have another that will take me even further. For now I enjoy my bully boy King and his rabbit fixation lol.
Thank you and know that His mercies are fresh each morning. “YAHWEH’S tender mercies have no end, and the kindness of His endless love is never exhausted. New, fresh mercies greet me with every sunrise. So wonderfully great is Your faithfulness!” ~Lamentations 3:22-23, TPT
“Let the sunrise of Your love end our dark night. Break through our clouded dawn again! Only You can satisfy our heart, filling us with songs of joy to the end of our days.” ~Psalms 90:14, TPT
