A Horse is a Horse – of Course!

wild horses

Hooves not paws? This will no longer be “just” a dog blog. Refer back to my post titled The Lion’s Roar. Funny thing about that is, when I began blogging in 2004 and my dog Shadrach the Neo Mastiff did all the blogging, he shared all kinds of animals on his/this blog!

When God shows you what He wants your current assignment to be, obedience is the first response. He’s SO good and generous that the response should be easy, and in this case FUN because I get to share what He shows me in the animal world. When I was a child, my favorite animal was the horse. I like to say I said horse before I said mom and dad. So this time I’m going to focus on the horse. My love of this animal has never waned, I’ve just never had the privilege of being owned by a horse.

This week on FB a photo popped up in my memories from 2016. It was a photo of a little girl playing in a huge mud puddle with lots of water, soaking wet playing with a herd of toy horses. She had them set up to look exactly as it might with horses crossing a river. I counted eight horses in her herd of varying colors and sizes. It took me off guard this time AGAIN (as it did the first time) because for a moment I thought it was a memory from my childhood. We played outside year round in all kinds of weather, got dirty (which helped build our immune systems NATURALLY), and we used our imaginations. When I re-shared this post, I got a few of my FB friends commenting how that was them exactly. This is what I wrote:

I had to do a double-take for a second lol as I thought a photo of me from childhood came up haha! This is the reason I started getting called ‘weird animal girl’ – for always playing with my toy horses and dogs lol. I LOVE this [photo], the memories, and of course the DIRT! Get in that dirt, that’s how immune systems are built naturally.

So let me tell you a bit about the whinny of the horse – another sound I absolutely LOVE! I want to emphasize going forward how much everything is based in sound. Whether we can hear the sounds or not doesn’t mean they aren’t there. God spoke and that’s how this earth and everything in it came into being – humans He formed from the dirt and we’ll get to that one day. Just refer back to the previous paragraphs – it’s why we need DIRT to be healthy! I’ll get back to the dirt as well in another post, and later in this one I’ll share more on sound so let’s get to the horse’s whinny shall we?

The Whinny: In an article titled, “Horses Whinny in Two Different Frequencies to Convey Emotion” in the very first paragraph the author stated that the vocal range in horses has more in common with birds than with other mammals! Remember in the Lion’s Roar post I shared how lions and human babies also have a common ground in vocalizations. Horses convey a lot of information over very long distances (similar to other animals of course) since they don’t have email or phones after all. They can determine a whole lot from the varying neighs as you’ll learn in the article – identity, sex, body size, etc. That’s fascinating to me. Let me share a little bit here about sound and why I’m so focused in on this – I believe we can learn a lot more about how to care for our animals and ourselves by learning some of this – it’s been pushed aside and we’ve gone inside so we are now very ignorant of the life all around us. I read the following book MANY years ago and I’m grateful to my friend, veterinarian Dr. Hugh Bassham for bringing it to my attention once again:

Wild Horses 2

“Personally, I believe that prayer is a sending out of vibrations from one person to another and to God. All of the universe is in vibration. There are vibrations in the molecules of a table. The air is filled with vibrations. The reaction between human beings is also in vibration. When you send out a prayer for another person, you employ the force inherent in a spiritual universe. You transport from yourself to the other person a sense of love, helpfulness, support–a sympathetic, powerful understanding–and in this process you awaken vibrations in the universe through which God brings to pass the good objectives prayed for. Experiment with this principle and you will know its amazing results. The Power of Positive Thinking ( Published 1952.) by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

This quote is from Del Hungerford: “…thoughts, intents, and actions all carry a frequency. When we “imprint” those into water, or into our bodies, what we say and do does have an effect upon us. This is why some healing practices use “positive thought therapy” because they understand the power of our words and actions.” I’ve taught on this very thing for years but Del focuses deeper on the musical aspect of this. Her site is https://www.healingfrequenciesmusic.com

Back to the horses, they convey varying vibrations/frequencies with their whinnies which describe their feelings, emotions and desires. Animals really are their own unique nations, however what we all have in common is the vibration of God’s spoken Word into this world. It’s time for us to recognize this to bring back the harmony. Right now we have a dissonant chatter that is causing disharmony in all of us right down to our cells which can and does equal illness and imbalance in all of us. Right down to this very computer I’m typing this message on, the EMFs and all that jazz! Sound is both the problem and the solution for healing and wellness in all of us – the solution to every problem is typically found within the problem itself. Animals are especially being disrupted by it all. My hope is that each of us who read this or learn this, will start to do our part to make the difference needed. Animals are really the “canary in the mineshaft” alerting us to the danger, but also they show us the way back to wholeness.

This article reveals more on the horse’s whinny: https://www.futurity.org/horses-whinnies-emotions-922092/ My aim here isn’t to give you all the science, but to show another way back to total wellness for us, the animals, and the planet. To share sneak peeks into the lives of animals, plants, the planet itself, then we will be able to see the forest and the trees. I’m on this journey with you also!

I still love the sound and scent of a horse (scent and color are also connected to sound). They are beautiful, magnificent creatures and a sight to behold! One day King Jesus will ride back upon a white horse to take back this earth and once and for all put His last enemy under His feet: death. Revelation 19:11-16.

In closing, here is a post I wrote a few years ago, and includes the podcast version as well along these same lines: Equine Dreams

Until next time…

Have a PAWSitively (and hooves too), tail waggin’, NATUROPATHICALLY healthy day!
