King and I

American Bully dog posingWell the King has arrived! His first day was probably too much for him but he handled it like the champ he is. As soon as I took him down to the lower yard which we always refer to as “the valley“, the neighbors noticed the new dog. We have horse fencing around the valley so it is easy for all the dogs in the neighborhood and neighbors to notice “new” things.

King met my neighbor who owns Stella, as well as his two little boys AND Stella herself! The two got on famously so playtime is a definite Monday through Friday and sometimes on the weekends. That’s a BIG relief for me to know that King will have a canine friend. Plus I know he’ll be playing with my brother’s dog, Penny too – just as Meshach did.

He also met another neighbor’s daughter who is a big animal lover just like me. She couldn’t help but be drawn to him. All King wanted to do was love everyone which is great because he represented the cause for bull breeds VERY well.

When we got to Mike’s house to pick him up, we were first greeted by Diesel, Mike’s Am Staff – what a

First_walk_as_a_Bloomer2_2SWEET boy he is! He just let me hug and love on him. Then I was greeted by Mike’s two youngest, most adorable little girls. I think we will become swimming buddies this summer – and they wanted me to be sure and bring King with me haha!

When we got to see King, he was so exuberant to meet us again which thrilled us of course. We also met Mike’s Rottie, who was also very happy to do a “meet n’ greet” haha! His dogs ALL represent well, dispelling myths – he has done a fantastic job of raising his dogs!

King played all sorts of games with us yesterday but he mostly wanted lots of hugs and love – which we gladly showered upon him. He is SO smart, learning the ropes here very easily. He also mastered “Meshach’s chair” (aka throne) and has now claimed it as his own – he is fast asleep in it as I write this post. He really seems to love being outdoors just as Meshach did. He was not interested in laying in front of the nice fire in his biscuit at all. All he wants to do there is wrestle with his inherited “Fat Cat” toys lol!

All I can say is yes, we are in love again! It is so awesome to have a canine in the home leaving pawprints, drool, dog hair, toys strewn about, but most of all LOVE everywhere!!!

I have new photos and a video too of course – which will be shared here. Every week King and I will be sharing news on natural canine care and also issues with Breed Specific Legislation (BSL). This week, since we are getting to know each other let us instead point you to some links with GREAT information on them for your learning:

From my colleague, Dr. Jeannie Thomason’s blog:
http://thewholedog.org/wholedognews/toxic-heavy-metal-levels-in-pet-foods/ – good reason to NOT feed kibble and stick to RAW meat, bones and organs
http://thewholedog.org/wholedognews/responsiblereputable-dog-breeders-are-the-solution-not-the-problem/ – an excellent post on the solution which is natural rearing!
http://thewholedog.org/wholedognews/neutering-dogs-effects-on-joint-disorders-and-cancers-and-more/ – and she blogged on the latest information on what neutering does to them…these are major organ systems not spare parts

All of her posts are getting heavily shared on Facebook so I hope you will read them – I was so impressed with her work on these posts and the vital information she shared.

Also one last one that we should all be aware of about ANY toys we give our pets. We love them and want the best for them, so be careful. Toys can be and are in fact often dangerous. Toxins in the dyes, parts coming off and being ingested, etc., can all cause grave and even fatal harm to our pets. Please do your homework as there are good products on the market but you have to search them out, monitor toy playing and do your best to assure these products are as natural as possible also.

Also just so you can see how much disinformation/misinformation is spread about various so-called “dangerous” dog breeds (I say “so-called” because ALL dogs are predator carnivores and have the potential to be dangerous – the true danger lies with human beings), here is a great link provided to me by my friend Toni who runs a rescue for bull breeds called Mariah’s Promise:

That’s all for now…

Have a pawsitively tail waggin’, NATUROPATHICALLY healthy day!

    Hi Kim!

I’m so happy for you and Donnie-and what a wonderful way to honor Meshach! I’m glad King likes the inherited Fat Cat toys! Argyle’s is still going strong after 5 years!

Oh, happy day for the Bloomers! I thank the Lord for bringing King to you!

    XOXO

    1. Hi Tunia,

Thank you SO much! And yes he inherited the Fat Cat toys – mangled but still hanging on lol! Such a happy day yes. We are dealing with yeast issues in him but I have the tools to remedy that, so we’re off and running! He’s probably the easiest dog I’ve ever had and such a love bug 🙂

I thank the Lord also, He always knows what we need! All praises to our true King!

      XOXOXOX
      Kim

Oh, Kim! He is sooo beautiful! I love him from the tip of his nose . . . down to those adorable, strong, white toes! He is a protector . . . look at that stance!

May the Lord bless you and Donny with years and years of joy with KING and all the friends he will attract . And in your “spare time” . . . keep all the great news and life saving information coming our way.

By the way, I got to listen to last week’s show (not ’til Saturday) and I love it! I love my YL oils and never do OTC drugs on my dog OR multitude of cats, but work in a natural food store and come in contact with many folks who do. I have pulled up your ATN site on my iPad many times and showed our clients the wealth of information you provide on your past programs list. Thank you Kim and Jeannie! God bless you!
