Special Edition: Battling MRSA in Animals, Naturally! - Show #124

This is always a very sad topic for me bepaws of Bella. But it also brings hope to me knowing there are humans out there who are fighting to keep this unnecessary infectious disease (and other infectious diseases) from decimating us, WOOF!

This Special Edition show on Animal Talk Naturally is all about fighting to prevent methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in animals. We spoke with the CEO of PureGreen 24, Dana Stetson, the first USA company to step up and help support the Bella Moss Foundation, based in the UK, founded to fight and prevent MRSA in animals - which all our listeners know Kim is the USA Representative for this foundation. Lori Spagnoli also joined us. Her beautiful kitty Momo is infected with MRSA and she is the also helping the Bella Moss Foundation and indeed is the person who discovered PureGreen 24 and put us together with them! Here is the synopsis:

Quotes

Act in strength of commitment to our animals - Lori Spagnoli

All that we send into the lives of others comes back into our own. ~ Edwin Markham

Bella Louise Moss (Kennel Club name ‘Priscilla Princess’), a Samoyed, was 10 years old when she ruptured a cruciate ligament and underwent surgery at a London multi-chain veterinary clinic. During the operation her wound was infected with MRSA and Pseudomonas. Misdiagnosed, Bella later died in agony and distress, abandoned by young and inexperienced staff who were afraid of catching the infection..

“As a result of seeing my beloved companion and best buddy die in the most traumatic way, I began a website www.pets-mrsa.com. I want the Foundation to help pet owners and vets to know more about the risks of MRSA to pets so that no owner or pet would have to go through the same terrible experiences. - Jill Moss, Founder of The Bella Moss Foundation
