There are so many benefits to using coconut oil that you’ll want to go read our post on A Dog’s View
It can help kill fungi, yeasts, ringworm and expel parasites. The one we like the best and offer here on Aspenbloom Pet Care is from Mountain Rose Herbs -it’s listed as a carrier oil. Here is some info:

It may not feel much like spring to you in your neck of the woods, but it is just around the corner. Spring is a time of newness, the earth coming alive, new beginnings, and it is a really good time to rejuvanate your bodies and your pets too!
Rather than totally reinvent the wheel here on the Re’Juva’ Nate program, we’ll just have you go read our indepth info at A Dog’s View.

Arrrooo fellow pets and humans! This week on Animal Talk, Naturally! Mom and Jeannie did some barking of their own, WOOF!
The took it up a notch from what Dr. Stephen Blake, DVM shared with us last week. Here are some of the things they discussed and some announcements:
1. The Newfie Palooza 2006
2. Walk for the UnderDog 2006
3. Why pharmaceuticals will not ever heal or cure
4. What God gave us in nature and why that works
5. Medical conspiracy???
and more but you’ll just have to LISTEN to the show!

Our dogs and cats are mirroring the same problems and diseases as their human counterparts. Diet, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, lack of exercise and all the usual suspects are part of why our pets are not experiencing optimal health.
A proper alkaline/acid balance (80/20 respectively) is necessary for your pets to experience optimal health. A friend shares her approach to ridding her cats bodies of arthritis on A Dog’s View.

This nasty pests can be external and internal. However, here at Aspenbloom Pet Care, we have an arsenal of natural products that can:

Arrrooo fellow pets and humans! This week we have a VERY special guest with us on Animal Talk, Naturally!. We have Dr. Stephen Blake, DVM aka The Pet Whisperer! He has a soothing voice so that’s why I used my chillin’ by the refrigerator photo, hehe! Seriously though, this was a grrreat show! There was a bit of technical difficulties so if you hear a glitch and wonder what happened to his explanation of why he chose veterinary medicine rather than continuing into human medicine, well that’s the problem and we didn’t re-record what he said. First mom was bounced out of the recording room and she was the one recording -HEH! Then Jeannie had the flu and she didn’t even notice, double HEH! So we lost that portion but you can go to Dr. Blake’s website and READ about his decision AND get his book -it’s that simple! So here is what they discussed:
Dr. Blake shared all his wisdom of over 30 years in veterinary practice -we covered a LOT of ground. Like why he switched to mostly holistic care, gemmology, bovine colostrum, aromatherapy, his traveling adventures, his theories. He talked about reductionism verses quantum thinking. The ABCs of pet care (not what you think either), what to feed us obligate carnivores (canine) and carnivores (feline), and some touchy subjects too. So just listen in and hear the wisdom, WOOF!

Arrrooo fellow pets and humans! Wow, this is my favorite topic so far -and IS the Year of the Dog. Well EVERY year is the year of the dog to me, hehe. Mom and Jeannie covered a LOT of ground on their radio show Animal Talk, Naturally! this week. It tuckered me out to hear it all AND they have a LOT of back up links, and information for you. Here is what they covered:
1. My trip to a holistic vet and her natural prescription for my pancreatitis
2. We’re featured podcast of the week on The Pod Lounge
3. Jeannie and Chase at the dog show and what Jeannie found out about a pet food her and Mom actually liked -RUH?
4. Jeannie’s flower essence blend
5. Heartworm prevention through the immune system plus EXTRA protection naturally
6. The FDA wanting Proheart off the shelves and how the pharmaceutical behemoth set out instead to slander the doctor who recommended it be removed from the market -typical
7. Dental health for dogs and Jeannie’s ongoing saga with the Greenies poop
8. Our very special guest, Dr. Stephen Blake, DVM coming on next week!

That time is fast approaching when everyone will be seeking to try and prevent heartworms in their dogs by getting them on either a topical pesticide “so-called” prevention or an internal sythetic pesticide “so-called” prevention. We hope you’ll consider a more natural approach. By feeding a species specific diet (ie, raw diet in the case of our dogs and cats), and supplementing to support the immune system, the blood of your pets will be unappealing “naturally” to the horrible mosquito, tick, and fleas pests. In fact, good, clean, strong blood will not taste good to these pests. Only weakened, “sick”, sweet blood will. As an extra precaution to help with your natural approach a friend has shared with us the recipe she uses for her dogs and cats using essential oils and water:
