Welcome to Aspenbloom Pet Care…Seeing YOUR Pets’ Good Health Bloom! Owned and operated by certified animal naturopath (aka natural animal health coach), Dr. Kim Bloomer.
If you are new to the natural approach for the health and wellness of your dog, it may be naturally a bit intimidating, possibly even foreign to the conventional care methods you have adhered to previously. Conventional methods focus on treatment rather than prevention. Even conventional “prevention” methods are more of an “after-the-fact” approach to health rather than as a proactive, based-in-nature approach to wellness. It pre-supposes, although erroneously, that our dogs are omnivores like us. Advertising and marketing is therefore targeted at our “omnivore-ness” rather than our dogs’ “carnivore-ness“.
The holistic, naturopathic approach looks at and works with the whole animal in a natural way that ignites the body’s internal healing force and stimulates its natural abilities to heal itself, rather than on treating or masking the symptoms. Masking or treating the symptom so that the “problem” appears to go away is not the same thing as the actual elimination of the root cause or underlying disease that produced the symptom(s).
Dr. Kim’s aim and passion is to guide and assist you to bring your dog to wellness by the elimination of the root cause of whatever may be ailing your dog, as well as to also bring your dog into homeostasis (balance) so that he/she will remain well. The majority of Dr. Kim’s clients are those whose dogs have not improved with conventional veterinary treatments.
Dr. Kim is particularly focused on setting up a healthy lifestyle for young animals through proper nutrition while minimizing exposure to toxins.
Naturopathy is not a single modality of healing such as homeopathy or bodywork, but rather it is a lifestyle with proper species appropriate nutrition as the foundation, following the laws of health in conjunction with an array of healing modalities which can include homeopathy, bodywork, aromatherapy, herbal remedies, hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercise or other specialized naturopathic remedies.
Dr. Bloomer is a naturopathic animal doctor, NOT a veterinarian but rather YOUR animal health coach, and has earned her V.N.D. degree, consulting on canine wellness and nutrition. If you would like to set up a consultation with her for a wellness and lifestyle assessment of your dog, please be sure to visit her consultation page for more information.
